Sian’s experiences of the East and it’s rich pattern history are her biggest influences. She is moved by serendipity and her work is a connection to her fascination of culture and style identity.
Her passion for contemporary visual culture and the formation of narrative in her work is encapsulated in her designs. Sian focuses on creating a fusion between elements of Eastern and Western design to demonstrate how much culture inspires the fashion industry today.
With a distinctly bohemian style, she favors luscious silks and velvets in rust orange tones and silvery greys. Sian is happiest when working tacitly in the print room and she brings depth to her textiles by building up processes, layers and creating texture. Sian creates deliberate interruptions within line and composition in her work to produce miss-matched and dynamic fashion collections.
Sian prefers to work designing everything by hand and applying her work to fabric using traditional techniques of design however she is also digitally trained.
